The Al Gore Rhythm Method: Tit pics, new mix... and a debut album

artwork: TAGRM

"Brand new duo. Brand new sound." This is the tagline of the American project The Al Gore Rhythm Method. They are releasing their debut EP tomorrow (January 29, 2013) on Sex Cult Records. Also they have just made an exclusive DJ mix for BUZZ, the radio show by yours truly. The mix will be broadcast this Saturday. We have interviewed them as we think they really deserve some publicity.

What have you been up to?
Always working on new music. We just wrapped up our first music video for our debut single, Smoke Out, on Sex Cult Records.

Favorite track at the moment or three?
Lots of stuff that makes us forget that it's winter. Day at the Beach - Filterheadz, Like U Never Seen - EC twins, Bless Di Nation (Torro Torro Remix) - Congorock & Stereo Massive, Plush - Tiga. Those are just a few that really get us going.

Dream band?
This is a hard question, we like to keep a sense of humor, but also go hard. Somewhere in between stage presence of the Bloody Beetroots live show and the bass-heavy mixing of Claude Vonstroke.

Best software for making music and for DJing?
Red started with FL and Paddy started with garage band and a little Logic pro. Now we're both in love with Ableton Live for all of our productions. Plug-ins are pretty standard like NI Massive and Izotope. We really like the fab filter stuff. We've also got a few top secret ones that help us really push that TAGRM sound. As for DJing, we prefer Serato, Traktor or CDJs because versatility is key.

Most bizarre facebook/twitter/email reaction to your stuff?
Probably the daily tit pics from 13 - 14 different fans daily.

What's in the pipeline for 2013?
Across the board, more releases, more shows, more everything. Paddy is graduating soon, which means we can only go harder.

You have founded this project just a few months ago… What have you
been doing before?

We both had individual music projects. Paddy was djing/producing under PatrickAwesome, which was pretty eclectic anything. Red was running under his notorious Red's Life moniker. Together there is a lot more forethought, direction and the mutual accountability means shit gets done.

You are supposedly in the studio now… what's cookin'?
Mostly Dutch and Trap influenced material. A lot of stuff that we are very excited about. The last few months have brought a lot of remixes, but we are now getting back into originals and looking to team up with some of our friends for collabs.

How is the Midwest for musicians/artists these days?
More competition in the scene definitely. It's amazing to see so many new faces getting involved in dance music. We find good parties exist almost everywhere if you look hard enough.

Any live shows coming up? In Europe?
A headlining spot next month we are preparing for. Otherwise surprising people at random house parties and seeing how much bass we can push without the cops showing up. No Europe yet, we'd love to visit though and it will definitely happen when the timing is right.

TAGRM release An Inconvenient Youth tomorrow on Sex Cult. It will be available online (Beatport and stuff).
