Pioneer announced details of the new Traktor DDJ-T1 controller last week and revealed that the upgrade means beat matching tracks with one click of the ‘synch’ button will be even more accurate than the already near perfect synchronization for the most tunes
The product threatens to make beat-matching an increasingly irrelevant even redundant skill for DJing though Russian DJ Nina Kraviz vehemently disagreed this week, in an interview with Halyconline.com in which she branded Traktor ‘disgusting’.
Complaining that it’s increasing ubiquity has led to clubbers becoming rapidly intolerant of any imperfections in mixes by vinyl and CD DJs, she noted that numerous ‘internationally respected DJs’ are using Traktor though said many are already bored of the one touch beat matching technique.
“Really, with this magical button, you don’t need to be a DJ anymore at all. I really don’t like this. I think Traktor should stop doing this. It’s horrible for the business,” she grumbled.
“I’m really not happy with this Traktor thing. I have problems with Traktor DJs,” she continued, “Yes I do. I have a personal problem with them,” she added.
