A new music magazine in 2013? And why not. We found about Uncool, a new publication made in LA that is available as a download from Bandcamp. Bandcamp usually serves as a vehicle for bands to sell their music - this time, you can download a magazine about music. Makes sense.
We asked its creators what it was, here is what they have to say:
"UNCOOL #1: Guiltless Pleasures is the first issue of UNCOOL, a new music publication for curious people.
It features essays and discussions from Devon Maloney, Jamieson Cox, Lindsay Zoladz, Henry Adaso and many more, on the subjects of shame, taste, triumph and Weezer.
It was edited and created by David Greenwald, a contributing editor at Billboard and the founder of Rawkblog.
UNCOOL was created as an alternative to news headlines, listicles and online traffic bait: it exists to provide a space for writers to think and talk about music they love regardless of cred, popularity or trendiness, and to prove a publication can rely on its readership for direct support. "
The publication costs 3.99 US dollars, or you can pay more if you are feeling like supporting independent music journalism.
