We really like italian food. And finding a good place to get it is always a pleasure.
Our new favourite place is called Osteria ai galli. It is located at Veletržní street 71 - next door to a larger place called V lochu. Do not overlook it though - this cozy place is worth looking for.
The owner has a knack for good cheese and meat products, but you can get more than that. They have a wide sortiment of homemade products - the list includes parma ham, salami, bacon, bresaola, sausage, ham, turkey ham, smoked beef carpaccio, goat cheese, pecorino (sharp, good sheep cheese), cow cheese, fresh cheese, buffalo mozzarella, parmesan, olives, artichokes, capers, sun dried tomatoes and numerous truffles specialities. Of course they have pasta, olive oil and various sauces.
You can sample these in the osteria too - just ask for a cheese plate or such - the owner recommends bresaola with parmesan and rucola and we agree.
They also have a wine cellar with more than 150 different kinds of wine from all Italy, including prosecco. Apart from that, difefrent kinds of grappa, liquors and amari from Italy await you, and if you drive, you can always get non-alcoholic italian drinks such as crodino, chinotto, cedrata etc.
The osteria is open from Monday to Saturday 10.00 - 22.00. You can trust us that the atmosphere is fantastic.
