28.1.15 is the date all fans of guitar indie should make a red circle around in their pocket calendars. The Dutch Kensington is coming to Prague for the very first time and along with them they bring their take on classic British guitar indie. They will perform in Prague at Rock Cafe.
But Kensington are no beginners. Their discography totals at 3 studio albums with the latest one – Rivals – being released this year and is a major success not only in Holland but around Europe as well. The band are also steady performers at majority of the most important European festivals such as Pinkpop or Sziget, where they’re met with loud applause and positive reception from their fans or first-time listeners. It’s not a surprise that they are also MTV Award-winners.
‘Rivals’ is in many ways the next step in this promising band’s evolution. The opening track ‘Streets’ is a prime example, with its anthem-like quality, meant for a heart-warming sing-along, and impossible to get out of your head after just one listen. The singer Eloi explains: “We really went the extra mile, especially in the production. We know what we want and how to achieve it. We thought things through more and didn’t quit until we were completely satisfied.” That’s why the band worked with Grammy Award-winning Tom Lord-Alge (Rolling Stones, The Cure, No Doubt).
Kensington are really a promising shooting star on the european guitar scene. Come see for yourself on 28.1.2015 at Rock Cafe. The tickets can be purchased via GoOut or Ticketpro and are 390 Kc. The presale starts this Friday 21.11.2014.
