Undergroundová scéna New Yorku & Berlína v Praze!
Blíží se benefiční večírek pro “City Primeval”, který se bude konat v
Chemistry Gallery ve čtvrtek 29. Června od 18:00! Kniha “City Primeval: New York Berlin
Prague” je poctou zaplivanému undergroundovému umění tří světových metropolí. “City Primeval”
je precizní uměleckou selekcí, kterou vzájemně provázal fotograf Robert Carrithers z New
Yorku spolu se spisovatelem a literárním teoretikem Louisem Armandem. Benefiční večírek
se koná na podporu vydání této knihy a doprovodné výstavy, které podtrhuje její historický
význam a dokumentuje propletené cesty mezi New Yorkem, Belínem a Prahou.
Na benefici bude možno zakoupit prezentovaná díla Roberta Carritherse, Jany Zimmové,
Dávida Kurňavky, Louise Armanda a Paula Paceyho.

City Primeval: New York Berlin Prague (Prague: Litteraria Pragensia; září 2017) je
souborem osobních memorabilií místa a doby, zachycených současnými spisovateli,
básníky, redaktory, hudebníky, designery, filmaři, fotografy a umělci, pro které byla umělecká
éra 70. Let v New Yorku, Berlíně a Praze determinujícím obdobím. Od Postpunk a No Wave
hnutí New Yorkské scény po pád Berlínské zdi. Od sjednocení Berlína po Sametovou
revoluci v Praze a následného znovuzrození Prahy. Seznam umlěců, jejichž tvorbu a
vzpomínky kniha zachycuje, nese jména jako: David Černý, Michal Cihlář, Lydia Lunch,
Marcia Resnick, Anthony Haden Guest, Max Dax a mnoho dalších.
Trojitý křest knihy v každé z jmenovaných metropolí bude doprovázen výstavami děl,
obsažených v knize.

“City Primeval” není klasickým křtem knihy. “City Primeval” nejen prezentuje díla vybraných
umělců, ale provází po cestě, která propojuje důležité momenty a místa metropolí New
Yorku, Berlína a Prahy. Doprovodné výstavy diváky vizuálně přenesou zpět do těchto
příběhů, přímo v městech, kde se před lety autenticky utvářely. Tyto události kreativně
obohatí místa vzniku živým performativním uměním, hudbou a módou.

New York & Berlin underground coming to Prague!
We cordially invite you to the fundraiser party for “City Primeval” at Chemistry Gallery on Thursday, June 29th at 6pm! The book “City Primeval: New York Berlin Prague” pays homage to the grungy underground art world in these three metropoles. “City Primeval” features the work of various artists and was meticulously curated by New York photographer Robert Carrithers and writer/critical theorist Louis Armand. The fundraiser party will capacitate the book launch and exhibition for this historically important book of New York, Berlin and Prague.
The event will o er works by the artists Robert Carrithers, Jana Zimmová, Dávid Kurňavka, Louis Armand, and Paul Pacey for purchase. DJ IM Cyber & Ado will make sure that the fundraiser party will be a blast!
City Primeval: New York Berlin Prague (Prague: Litteraria Pragensia; September 2017) is a constellation of personal documentaries of place and time by key contemporary writers, poets, musicians, designers, ɿlmmakers, photographers, artists, editors, performers from within the New York, Berlin and Prague underground scenes from the late 1970s until today; from New York Post-Punk and No Wave, to the fall of the Berlin Wall. From the Berlin Reuniɿcation to the
Velvet Revolution and the Prague Renaissance. Contributing authors and artists include David Černý, Michal Cihlar, Lydia Lunch, Marcia Resnick, Anthony Haden Guest, Max Dax and many more.
The three book releases will be accompanied by exhibitions of the works featured in the book:

“City Primeval” is far from a standard book release. “City Primeval” not only promotes the creative work of the featured artists, but it creates a journey through time and space of New York, Berlin and Prague. The accompanying exhibitions to the book release dates will bring the stories visually into life in all the cities of their creation. The events will enlighten these cities’ stories through performance, music, video and fashion.
