Dancing Queen’s Royal Rave-Up

Buckingham Palace is to be transformed into an ‘after-hours royal wedding rave’ this Friday, following the nuptials of Lady Di’s son William and his commoner bride to be Kate Middleton.

“Prince William and Kate Middleton want a proper knees-up. They have been working on a playlist,” the Daily Telegraph revealed, “They want some cheesy songs. ”

The paper suggested that 80s tracks such as Blondie’s Atomic and A-Ha’s Take On Me should work the best though recommended that wedding party DJs throughout the land should steer well clear of Oasis, Robbie Williams and even ABBA.

“People get sick of things that have been over-saturated. After Mamma Mia there was a bit of an Abba surge, but now people are fed up with it,” covers band frontman Ivan McCormack explained.

“Right now, Beyoncé’s Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) is popular, as are the Black Eyed Peas’ I’ve Gotta Feeling and Lady GaGa’s Bad Romance,” he added, “ but I think people will be sick of that in a year or two.”

His dismissal of ABBA could upset William’s Grand Ma (and reigning monarch) Queen Elizabeth 11 who several years ago stunned guests at a Windsor Castle private party by throwing shapes to Abba’s disco classic Dancing Queen

"I always try to dance when this song comes on,” Her Royal Highness explained, “because I am the Queen and I like to dance". (BBC Radio 2)

Uber-chic space disco DJ Hans Peter Lindstrom could also be distraught judging by comments he made to British magazine One Week To Live in 2006, recalling his formative years playing live in a 80s cover band in Sweden.

“We used to play Abba, Queen, Tina Turner’s ‘Private Dancer’,” Lindstrom admitted, “All the 80s music which I really love, but which most people laugh about.”
