Moody Men More Sexy Surprise

A new study of over 1,000 Canadian adults’ sexual preferences has revealed that while men typically prefer happy looking smiling women, women prefer men who ‘glower’ and ‘seem arrogant’.

Psychologists quizzed people’s first impressions of hundreds of photos, prompting lead researcher Alec Beall to declare ‘previous research has also suggested happiness is a particularly feminine-appearing expression.’

"We did not ask participants if they thought these targets would make a good boyfriend or wife,” he added, “We wanted their gut reactions on carnal, sexual attraction." (Daily Telegraph: http://bit.ly/lsLWKH )

The findings emerged some five years after a study of British men’s sex lives by the Men’s Health Forum reported that millions of British men are rejecting sex as a result of stress and depression’, with one in five ‘bottling up problems’ presumably attracting more and more women as they did.

Men’s Health Forum chief Peter King said many were struggling to reconcile coping with stereotypical expectations of being macho and strong.

"Compared with women, men are also twice as likely to resort to illegal drugs to cope with the effects of mental illness,” he added, “While one in ten rely on pornography or extra marital sex to cope with the problem.”

A year earlier, scientists in Siberia even more ironically suggested depression can be cured by ‘whipping therapy’, with lead scientist Sergei Speransky, Doctor of Biological Sciences suggesting regular sessions of 30 sets of 60 lashes can soon make miserable men smile again.

"The whipping therapy becomes much more efficient when a patient receives the punishment from a person of the opposite sex,” Dr Speransky told Pravda.

 “The effect is astounding: the patient starts seeing only bright colours in the surrounding world, the heartache disappears, although it will take a certain time for the buttocks to heal, of course," he agreed (Izvestia newspaper).
